When I opened up my email, I had 24 unread messages. 21 of them were filtered by Yahoo!'s medium-strength spam catcher into the Bulk Mail folder. When I saw the subject lines, my draw dropped. I got twenty cases of the SoBig virus. Holy. I hear about all the viruses running around, but I never get them. That's freaky. And they were huge attachments, too, up to 101kb each. That means either one of my friends has SoBig, or it invaded one of my fanlistings (which is even worse; some of them have over 1000 members). I just hope everyone's heard about it so they don't accidentally open the attachment. And there was an omen from Yahoo: on the welcome screen, there was a tip about avoiding the virus. I never get viruses like this. Whoa.

::opens non-virus email:: Crap. A bounce message. For an email I never sent. An email with SoBig attached. So watch out: if you get an email with a big attachment that looks like it's from me, it's not. Don't open it. I haven't sent a thank you email recently, so don't let that subject line fool you.

I spent my entire morning at MVA in Waldorf renewing my learner's permit. Yeah. I never got around to practicing enough to take the test before it expired (today). We got there around 8:25, just before it opened, but we spent two and a half hours there. The first part wasn't so bad, standing in line at the information desk. I got held up before the law test because their computers malfunctioned, so they had to switch everyone to written (not me), and that way takes longer. I got one wrong. I think it was the one about following distance. Then I waited for over an hour to go to the desk and get the actual permit. Ugh. I am *so* working on it this time. My goal is to take the test sometime in October, before it gets cold and icy again.

My summer assignments are coming along. My review for AP Lit needs revising, and I have to finish references for my RP paper. I've given up on finding a mentor before school starts. It's not going to happen. I'll just submit what I have and hope I don't lose enough points to hurt me in the long run. My project looks solid, though. And all my other work is done. It just needs printing... I should try to print tonight. It would be tragic to have the printer die right before I need to use it.

Library cards expire. Who knew? I couldn't renew online, so I had overdue books (only for the second time ever), and had to bug my mom to go to the library again. Sigh. Why didn't I work to get my license already? My car is at the VW workshop place being fixed up, and then it's all mine. It's already insured, with my parents under USAA. I'm getting so lazy lately. What happened to productivity?

The finals of the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament were last night. I missed it on Thursday for the recital, and I hope to be participating instead of watching next year, so I was excited. Then Greg texted me and I got online to AIM with him from an internet café, so I only go to see the second round. It was awesome. All guys, though. The one on the end got the last clue, the video Daily Double, and risked ten thousand dollars (he had thirty thousand!). The question: A good position for your hands on the steering wheel is nine and three if the car is equipped with these; ten and two if it's not. He got it right, then lost in Final Jeopardy. Kind of sad. I want that to be me next year -- the winner, that is. $50,000 and a brand new VW bug. Yeah, baby.

The answer to the Daily Double? Airbags.
