Yesterday was mostly bland and boring, which is part of the reason I skipped blogging. (The other being that it was getting late, and it was the blog or Draco Veritas Chapter 13.)

I took my senior pictures today. There was some kind of mix-up at Lifetouch (the portrait company), so the appointment card I got was for Donnell Jones (who?), but my mom called and they told us to come anyway. So we did. Note the "we." Any time someone takes a picture of me, my mother is there. Physically or in spirit. I swear, I hear her telling me to push up my glasses. Yeah, I should do that anyway, but it's still a little creepy.

So we checked in and I took the first set of pictures in dressy clothes. Posing really does feel awkward. Then I changed for the drape and cap-and-gown photos. I don't think I've ever felt so... exposed. (I was wearing a black tube top, which I only got yesterday because I don't own any others. I don't wear tube tops.)

The drape/tux photographer was really cool. You know how doctors can have a good bedside manner? This guy had a good cameraside manner. He actually invited my mom to come up and fix my hair once I'd tilted my head and lifted my chin up. And when he gave me the flower, he said, "Are you allergic to roses?" I said no. He said, "How about plastic roses?" Corny, but it made me laugh. When they say drape, they mean it: a black velvet sheet wrapped around your shoulders. They only photograph bust-style, so you can't see that there's no sleeves or anything like that, but it feels really awkward.

The cap-and-gown shot was painless. And then I was done and we came home. Greg texted to wish me luck (and beauty?), even though he was kinda late. I came home, changed, went to work, and came home. Yep, yep.

Rajni did this photo challenge, 26 Things. Hers is so creative and thoughtful. I wanna take pictures like that. I wonder if she can shoot people, too...? (With a camera!) The photo she took of herself was very flattering.

My Amazon order finally got through yesterday. Four Fearless books and How to Deal (Sarah Dessen), because I didn't buy it in Borders but would have anyway. The movie trailers look good, and I loved Mandy Moore in A Walk to Remember, and Greg said he'd take me to see it, so I figured reading the book couldn't hurt. And it's two in one; the movie was based on two books combined into one screenplay. Not that I condone doing that, but if it works on screen, so be it.
