Well. I got quite a bit done today. This morning was the SAT: Round Two. In retrospect, I think I did worse this time than last time. Maybe it was not getting enough sleep last night. Maybe it's because I had four verbal sections this time, so all the math ones counted. Maybe it's because I might have accidentally studied less this time than I did last time. I really don't want to have to take it again. The point of this retesting was to (a) raise my math score 20 points to 600, (b) break 1300, or (c) both. I don't think I did either. That sucks. AND I was running late this morning. It's a good thing my test center (Crossland) is only five minutes away. To make matters worse, it rained this morning. I did my hair last night, so it is frizz-free, but I still have flyaways, and my bangs are wilting into my eyes. This made me even more water-phobic about my hair than usual. But I digress. The test sucked. I mean, it sucked before, but it sucks more now.

After the test, I came home, ate lunch, and then headed to the library (again) to finish up the book-research for my project for Mrs. Anderson. Greg insisted on meeting me there and doing his research at the same time. Who am I to discourage him from doing work? He accosted me in the stacks when I got there, though. You think he could've at least texted me that he was already in the library. Sigh. But he'd already found two of the three sources I needed, so everything worked out. And somehow, he was done before I was, so he hunted down a novel for me: Among the Impostors, first sequel to Among the Hidden, both by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It was published in April, but apparently the library just got it, so I have a brand-new library book. That is so rare. I also got The Lord of the Flies for the Lit summer assignment and an ACT prep book. So I deftly managed to get some work done and spend time with Greg. Skillful multi-tasker, I am.

I came home from the library (I drove, zero mishaps, not even the ones that happen and I just omit from my blogging) and started in on my ACT book (from Peterson's) until my family left for the movies. They said something this morning about going to see Finding Nemo (which is unfortunate, as Greg's out seeing it now with his family, so I would have had no one to see it with), but they went on base to see Holes instead. I took a nap right after they left. I woke up around 7:20, which is at least twenty minutes after I meant to wake up, but I am very refreshed now. I needed that nap. I needed it, like, Tuesday.

Woke up, watched I Dream of Jeannie while I ate (another TV Land marathon), did some more ACT questions, then came here. I think I need to study most for the science and English sections. I got all the practice questions right in the reading section, and I haven't looked at the math yet. I'm averse to math due my abysmal performance this morning. That, if nothing else, convinced me to squeeze in as much studying as possible for the ACT next Saturday. If I study enough, I think my ACT score might turn out okay. ACT scores are based solely on the number correct; they don't penalize you for wrong answers. That could be my ticket to a 36 (or is it 34...?).

Blog-hopping, quoted from Mykella, on literary analysis: However, there are certain sick people who get a certain sick enjoyment out of torturing teenage minds with impossibly long sentences containing what is sure to be an illegal number of commas. I hear you. It's a conspiracy. Which reminds me that I woke up from my lovely nap intending to start writing my paper. I have about seven pages of notes, but no sentences, really. No, I take that back, I think I wrote some comparison stuff for the Usher stories. Now I just have to write my own analyses so that the stuff I noted from books with correspond with it. Yeah, I missed the incest in "The Fall of the House of Usher", but when I looked for it, there it was. Let me just say: erlack. (That is the written equivalent of sticking out one's tongue in disgust.) And ::shudder::. That is all.

Got that prom pic, Andra. Aww! I am sure I have no idea what you're talking about; you look exactly the same as you did the last time I saw you in person, two years ago. That is a cute dress, and your hair looks interesting (I see braids), and the height thing is nothing. Greg and I look like that when I wear sneakers. Thanks muchly.

It seems I have this notion that I can read faster than I actually can. I'm reading The Second Summer of the Sisterhood right now, and trying to conquer Confession of a Shopaholic, still on loan from Ms. Sim, before school's out. Then there's the new book I got at the library, three books for AP Lit, a book I bought on my last trip to Borders, and three Fearless books I am going to order from Amazon (because Borders won't order them in for me - boo!). I love books with a passion unsurpassed by anything I know of, but that's a lot. I have other things to do. Like my English paper, which I am thisclose to starting. Blog-hopping... so addicting... Rajni is finally up and running, Net-wise, that is... so many things to do... so little time and will to do them all...
