Today was actually a good day, even though it started off "badly". (I used quotation marks because that's not what I mean, but it's the closest word I can come up with off the top of my head.)

AP English Language and Composition exam this morning. My mom drove me to the test site, but we were supposed to be there at 7:45, so I had to get up way earlier than usual. In my typical fashion, I took a while to get ready and was rushed out the door. I even forgot the cute little map Greg drew for me, but we found the building anyway. Just before I walked into the library (where they gave the test), Greg texted me asking if I was lost. He is a such a sweetie. I scooted in the door at 7:48 -- Jorge was quick to point that out to me. So I was late. Some people arrived much later than I did; I think they were still walking in at 8.

I decided to chance sitting near Greg, and it turned out okay. I just stayed calm, and worked quickly and carefully. That's the same strategy I used on the practice test, only I had more sleep this time. (I went to bed at about 10:50. It was weird to be in bed so early.) The essays went well. I think I used specific enough examples on the defend-challenge-qualify, but the third compare/contrast essay kind of wore me out. Maybe because it was at the end of three long hours of testing. I'm fairly confident that I can nab that 3. If I get a 4, I will be excited beyond all reason.

Greg only really distracted me once during the test. Ian had just come back from the bathroom, and I saw him walk behind me, and then I couldn't see him go past out of the corner of my eye. Then, Greg started gesturing and mouthing something over my head, so I figured Ian was still behind me. According to Greg, Ian was making lewd gestures behind me, about me. I just brushed it off. I was able to get my train of thought back on the tracks, so it's no big deal. (Also, I found out that Ian has a new girlfriend -- someone I never would have expected. For her privacy, I won't say whom. But if she's reading this: yay for you.)

So, after the test, Greg and I went out to the mall in Waldorf. Nothing big, just lunch, some random stores, and a movie. He insisted we go to Spencer's, so I insisted we go to Afterthoughts. And we hit Target so I could buy a new umbrella. It's small, so I can keep it inside my backpack to avoid losing another one. Grr. So, after "shopping", we went to see Holes. It was a good movie. One of the better book adaptations I've seen. Good acting, good music, very faithful to the book. If you haven't read it, you should. The title is perfect for the story, once you understand it. I don't want to leave any accidental spoilers, but don't let the low rating turn you off to it. I had much fun. It balanced my day out perfectly: stress major in the morning, fun major in the afternoon/evening.

Then I came home. Not so much fun. I was late for dinner, but they saved me some, so it was cool. Watched my shows. Buffy is almost over!!! The plot is getting really good (except for the gratuitous sex), but I guess that's standard for May sweeps. The Angel season finale tomorrow night looks great. People back from the dead, now that Jasmine is gone, and why didn't Angel burn up when Lilah opened the blinds? Could be excellent. Gotta go now. School tomorrow, bleh. I hope Mrs. Anderson doesn't rush into Billy Budd... I'm starting to get behind, I think. Not good. But I can deal.
