I've been using my uJournal for the past few days, so that's why I haven't blogged here lately. It's just easier to use, I think, since uJ uses Semagic, the LiveJournal client. I originally wanted a LJ, but those accounts are not as easy to get as Blogger, so I wound up here. I joined uJ later, but I kept this here because we, like, have a history.

Nothing really interesting has happened lately. I actually got a few of the things done from my to-do list. I wrote all three partial essays for the AP exam. Ack! Less than three weeks! I kept getting interrupted, though, so it took just over an hour. The doorbell rang twice (my grandma and cousins, then one of Courtney's friends). (Our doorbell is kind of bad. It's too quiet for the size of the house. People usually have to knock for a while before someone answers, unless we see them approach the door by looking under the hedges outside the family room window.) Then the phone rang, and Greg texted me from work. I think those essays were better, though. I was only going to do the first one, but I got into a groove after the interruptions stopped, so I did them all. The passages were fairly easy to understand. I just hate the "discuss, challenge, or qualify" parts. What does qualify mean, anyway?

I'm on Act III of Cyrano de Bergerac. It's very interesting, especially considering that it's a translation from the original French version. The first act started slowly, but it picked up once Cyrano came in. The story is that Cyrano is in love with Roxane (who is also his sister-like cousin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). He's afraid to tell her, though, because he doesn't think she'll love him in return. And he has a really big nose. Roxane is in love with Christian, though. When Christian comes to Cyrano and confesses that he loves Roxane, everything gets more complicated. Cyrano decides to combine his skill with words with Christian's dashing good looks to win Roxane's heart. Very funny.

I also got around to putting more of my writing online. I submitted a few short stories and poems to Fiction Press, but you can find them on my site, Calliope Calls, as well. Please let me know what you think, and keep in mind the time frame. I wrote some of those in the eighth grade, so I know they might seem a tad immature. All I ask is that you're honest. (Note the intended lack of the word "brutal" there.)

I had my piano lesson early today. Mrs. Maus had her "second cousin, twice removed" to visit, so I had a mini-audience. (How do you remove relatives, anyway?) I was shaking like you wouldn't believe. I always start with my "signature song", which I've been playing for almost a year, so I know it well. The shaking interferes, though. It's a difficult song, but it's near impossible to get the intended sound when my hands are shaking involuntarily. I played it again before I left, though, and it was much better. I'd calmed down by then.

This weather is ridiculous. It was roughly 85 degrees on Wednesday, then it dropped to 42 yesterday. How can you lose forty degrees in one day? I had to find the Weather Channel again, so I can keep track. It feels like the world is going to end, like this is the freaky-weather part of the Tribulations. Or maybe it's global warming. Whatever.

Off to attempt that HTML again. Oh, and I added a Site Meter (which I should have done long ago, cause I'm interested in what kind of traffic I get). Also, I had a really freaky dream this morning. I've never been so glad to wake up. I wrote down everything I could remember after I got up, it's going in the uJ shortly. My preliminary personal analysis says it's about school. Not surprising.
