Went out driving again with my dad today. Practiced paralled parking for at least half and hour; am no better at it than I was last time. No major incidents. One hour closer to my license.
Having nothing else to say, I shall just post this survey I stumbled across online. (I seem to stumble across many things on the Net. But it's such a
huge place, you're very unlikely to know exactly where to go when you want something. I rest my case.)
The Great Procrastination Survey of 2003
[1] If you could be instantly fluent in one other language that you currently do not read or speak, which would it be?
French. It is quite possibly the most beautiful language in the world, and then I could go to France and not be hopelessly lost. (I'd say Spanish, but I speak
un poco, so it doesn't really count.)
[2] If you could have the starring role in any film already made, what would it be?
Jamie, in "A Walk to Remember". Excellent one-liners, no sex scenes, and Shane West.
[3] If you could receive one small package this very moment, who would it be from and what would be in it?
Umm... a surprise gift someone sent me from
my Amazon wish list. No reason is the best reason for gift-giving.
[4] If you could own one painting from any collection in the world but were not able to sell it, which work of art would you select?
I can't even think of any art I like right now.
[5] If you were instantly able to play one musical instrument perfectly that you never have played before, what would it be?
Guitar. It's just as versatile as piano, but much easier to carry around. ;)
[6] If you could possess one supernatural ability, what would it be?
Telepathy, but only if I could control it (none of that going-insane-cause-the-voices-won't-stop).
[7] If you had to choose the most valuable thing you ever learned what would it be?
That life is not always good, and definitely not always fair, but you can always learn from the things that are bad and unfair.
[8] If you could have only one piece of furniture in your house, what would it be?
My bed. I use it as a chair as well as sleeping in it, and sometimes as a temporary table as well. So useful.
[9] If you could read the private diary of someone you know personally, whose diary would it be?
Woah. That's a hard question. "Private" implies "things that the writer doesn't want anyone to know, ever", so I wouldn't want to read it. And, by the same token, I wouldn't want anyone reading
my private diary.
[10] If you could have one person you know as your slave (well-paid and cared for) domestic laborer for one month, who would it be?
My little sister, Courtney.
[11] If you could choose the way you will die, how would you want it to happen?
In my sleep, very peacefully. Just like, heart stops beating, stop breathing, and that's it. No pain.
[12] If you could wake up tomorrow to learn that the major newspaper headlines were about you, what would you want them to say?
"Young American Unknown Wins Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, Nobel Prize for Literature, and Newbery Medal."
[13] If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Break it up: keep some to buy a car (as soon as I get my license), put some away for college, donate some to charity (and I mean that), and spend the rest.
[14] If you could choose the music at your funeral, what would it be, and who would play it?
Classical. Featuring Beethoven's "Fur Elise", Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", Debussy's "Clair de Lune", and all of Williams's "Harry Potter" movie scores.
[15] If you could take away the vocal cords of any person, who would it be?
Umm... Macy Gray. The raspiness may be unique, but it's
so annoying.
[16] If you had to describe your idea of the perfect mate, how would you do it?
Someone I can talk to, who will listen, who is intelligent, kind, compassionate, dedicated, and sincere, and loves me for just being me.
[17] If you had to have a personal friend redecorate your house, who would you pick to do it?
Can't really decide. All of my friends live with their parents, so I assume they're not the ones who decorated their houses.
[18] If you had to choose the worst home you've ever lived in, which one was it?
I've been in many places temporarily; the worst of them was the apartment in Speicher GLH back in Germany.
[19] If you could have prevented one thing from happening between you and a friend, what would it have been?
Losing touch with Jenn. We were really close back in Okinawa, but then she moved to North Dakota. We still email now and then, but it's nothing like the contact I have with some of my friends from Germany.
[20] If you could learn the total number of hours you have spent in your life doing one thing, what would it be?
Reading. (The person I got this survey from put that answer, too, and it's good, so I'm keeping it.
[21] If you had to describe yourself as a child in one word, what would it be?
Precocious.
[22] If you could own a single prop from any film ever made what would you choose?
The Heart of the Ocean, from "Titanic". That is one of the most gorgeous pieces of jewelry I've ever seen.
