Yay! No school tomorrow, so there's a three-day weekend. We haven't had any days off this month, and we won't be getting any more until November, so I, for one, will be taking advantage of the extra time. It's been a while since I last wrote, so I'll start at the present and work my way backwards.
I finished an awesome book today. It's new, which is unusual for me, but I was in Borders and it said, "Buy me!" Who am I to disobey a book. Anyway, it's
All-American Girl, by Meg Cabot. The same genius that wrote
The Princess Diaries. It's about a different girl this time, Samantha Madison. She accidentally foils a presidential assassination attempt, and gets appointed teen ambassador to the United Nations. Not to mention that she's in love with her older sister's boyfriend, and the First Son likes her, too. Lots of humor, and a page-turner. The top-ten lists were my favorite part: "Top Ten Reasons Why I Would Like to Be Gwen Stefani, Lead Singer of No Doubt, the Best Ska Band in the World" and "Top Ten Reasons Why My Sister Lucy's Boyfriend, Jack, Should Dump Her and Go Out With Me Instead." Sam is the new Mia, only without the whole princess-of-a-tiny-country thing. =)
The PSAT was fine. The math sections seemed a lot easier this year than they were last year. That's not necessarily a good sign, though, since I though the first AP Physics test wasn't so hard, and then I got a C. I'm really hoping to be in the running for a National Merit Scholarship. College is only about 2 years away, and I could use $3500, and it looks really impressive to say that you're a National Merit Scholar.
Still no activites at school. I live in the D.C. area, so they're probably not going to let us do anything until the disgruntled psycho that is The Sniper is caught. It gets on my nerves. My only activity is inside, and it's not like I would purposely wait outside for my dad to bring the car. I'm not that complacent. (I love being able to say "bring the car" instead of "pick me up", now that I get to drive us home.)
Thanks to you lovely people who reviewed
my stories. There seems to be a demand (!) for continuations to them, so I just might do that. That is, after I get started on my Physics homework, and finish my paper, and catch up with the Good Ship, and clean out my magazine rack... Okay, so it might be a while. But with such a receptive audience, who could say no? =)
