Richard Harris died yesterday. I was so shocked to find out. All of the adult actors in the HP&SS movie were fanstastic, including Richard. He brought Dumbledore to life, and helped us to see the Dumbledore we've loved for years in the books. He will be missed. I've seen this quote from Book 1 posted many times, and I think it fits the situation perfectly.
To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure. --Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone (novel)
I went to uJournal, as Sims suggested, and
started a blog there. Nothing fancy, I just wanted to see if I'd like it better. There's only one post, but the layout is pretty neat, and there's these
adorable mood icons. I just don't know if I'd rather have full reign over the HTML, or a more structured design. The
Best British Weblog has the sort of layout I'd like: neat, organized, with a wide bar on the side for linkage, but still enough space for ample blogging. I looked at the source code, to see if I could use it for this, but it was unbelievably confusing. Maybe I should just email the guy and ask if I can "borrow" his layout. I'll figure it out soon enough. Besides, I joined the
Hermione Granger Fanlisting, and I want to display the link so I can be properly added to the list.
I spent all of my afternoon today working at the Youth Center Harvest Festival. At first, I was assigned to the Dart Toss, but I got tired of near-misses with darts and getting hit by stray balls from the Ball Toss next to me. I switched to the Ball Toss after my break, but that wasn't much easier. The balls were rubber, so I had to chase them a few times. It wasn't a bad way to earn some more service hours for school, though. I may have to go over my requirement. Volunteering gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling. =)
