Physics is really getting on my nerves lately. I got a C on the first test, and there's another one on Thursday. If I didn't completely understand the stuff from the first test, how am I supposed to be prepared for the second? Vectors, and projectiles, and trig, oh my!

I went to see Ms. Watkins today about my locker. She gave me four (!) other combinations to try on my locker, then told me to come back and tell her which one worked. First of all, why doesn't the school know what the combos are to all the lockers? Isn't that a security issue or something? Second, none of the new combos worked. I'm getting royally P.O.'d at this school. It's so messed-up. Not that Flowers (that's my old school) was any better, but still...

Forgot to mention my driving lesson yesterday. It was supposed to be Saturday, but they changed it. There was another girl driving, and she got her certificate. She was so good! I felt kind of intimidated, especially since I'm having a string of bad-hair days lately. She drove us back to the driving school, and the instructor had me practice turning in the parking lot. (There were actual cars, and I *almost* hit one, but he stopped me in time.)

Then, I had to go out on the road. I half expected to panic and run into something, but I wasn't terrible. Apparently, I'm thinking in the wrong order: I tend to come to a full stop, and then realize I didn't start to brake soon enough. I had to watch my speed, and the traffic, and try to stay in the middle of the lane, and listen to the instructor, and keep the car under control, all at the same time.

It reminds me a lot of something I once heard about piano. To properly play the piano, you have to know which keys to press, how hard, if they're legato/staccato/tenuto/accented, which finger to use, and how long to play that note. And push the pedal(s) with your feet. It's a lot to do all at once. But with a lot of practice, (six years, in my case) you can do it without even really thinking about it. Just like driving. Only I don't get six years to get better at it. Darn. ;)
