Now I'm finally realizing what a great thing blogs are. You can say whatever you want, whenever you want (within reason.) I look at this as an opportunity to say what's on my mind, without the nervous feeling I sometimes get when I'm dishing to people face-to-face.

I subscribe to Seventeen Magazine (and CosmoGIRL! and Teen People). For the past year or so, they've run this awesome column, currently named "Torie Talks." It's written by Torie Bosch, and she sounds off each issue on... everything. Whatever she feels like. Everything from the way the entertainment industry markets sexual content toward teenagers, then discourages them watching it, to her love of punk rock, to the agony of swimsuit shopping. This issue (September), Torie talks about misconceptions of high school life. The title reads, "To Hell With High School: These may be the best years of your life, but I'm ready to graduate."

How great is that? She says what she feels. It's funny, smart, and honest. That's what I want to do with this blog -- be open and honest. I tend to be long-winded sometimes, so feel free to skip a sentence or two as you read these entries. TTFN, even though I'll probably update again later today. =)
