Mykella: Quote away. Great minds think alike.
Mark: It's not that I want to go back to school, I just want to get away from the rugrats. They annoy me more and more every day. At least school lets me get away from them for a little while.
Greg: Stop that.
I had my piano lesson this afternoon instead of tomorrow. I was there for a little longer than usual. Then again, I had more to play, and I played almost everything more than once, and she talked for a little while. The music was fine, except that I kept making little mistakes throughout one piece.
Her topic of discussion today was people. Family, specifically. Since Greg was at my last lesson, she's become very interested in him. Too bad he doesn't play anything. I remember him mentioning that he wants to learn to play the guitar, but wanting to play an instrument and actually studying how to play it are two different things. She told me to make sure I meet a potential husband's family before I commit to marrying him. Good advice. (Not that I intend to marry Greg, but isn't that the point of dating? It's either dating or arranged marriages.) According to Mrs. Maus, there are four requirements for a suitable husband: (a) He has to cherish you, and to understand what it really means to cherish, (b) he has to love, respect, and treat his mother very well, (c) he has to be well-read and enjoy reading, and (d) he has to know how to do something. He can be outdoorsy, or know computers, or be able to build things, or know how to play an instrument. I like those criteria. I'd like to add a few of my own, but that's not a bad place to start.
Greg and I are going to double date with Thomas and Alanna next weekend. The plan is to go to the movies and bowling (on Andrews -- yay for military cheapness), but I don't know what we're going to see. I think the point is just to be together. Everything else gets put on the back burner.
I have no plans for tomorrow. I just realized (yesterday?) that it will have been exactly one year since I really got into the online Harry Potter fandom. Last Independence Day, I stayed home and read all of
Draco Dormiens in one sitting, posting on the review boards after I finished each chapter. I didn't finish until almost midnight, at which point my family came back and we lit sparklers in the backyard. That was a great day. If I stay home again (which I might; family functions don't usually agree with me), I may commemorate my Fandom Anniversary by reading chapter 13 of
Draco Veritas. It's two parts, which means it's twice as long as usual, and it's usually pretty long, so I should have plenty to read.
I feel like making neat website content. I still can't design very well. (Notice that my entire blog is laid out in two columns. Not tables; I just tweaked the divs to death.) This could be a problem.
