The sophomores took the MSA (some sort of long standardized test) this morning, so first period lasted until 12:30. They're doing it again tomorrow. I have English first, and Mrs. Anderson had planned to give us a practice AP exam, but Mark showed up to take Greg and me to an impromptu It's Academic meeting. Apparently, the spring version of the Maryland Invitational whatever is in two weeks, so we could use the extra practice time. And we didn't have to stay after today. (I later found out that Anderson didn't even give the exam. They did Emily Dickinson poems; I did both of mine, so I missed nothing. Yay.)

I've known for a long time now that my trivia specialty is literature, but woah. Mr. T started with social studies questions (a.k.a. history), and I drew total blanks. I got, like, one question (Admiral Lord Nelson, Trafalgar). The lit round went much better. Everyone's good with mythology, so those are harder to get points for, but general lit is my thing. Author of Where the Wild Things Are? Maurice Sendak. Where the Sidewalk Ends? Shel Silverstein (whose name I nearly screwed up). The Catcher in the Rye? J.D. Salinger. "Common Sense"? Thomas Paine. Where did Jesus turn water into wine? Canaa (which may be misspelled...). Which king threw those guys into the burning, fiery furnace? Nebuchadnezzar (which I know is spelled right). I love it when I feel like I know stuff.

After we finished questions, I sat around with Greg. Much PDA. A bit awkward because Mark was there as well. Ignored him and others. Will attempt less PDA tomorrow. (Key word: attempt.)

Nothing interesting yesterday. Went to the library, got three more books. Almost finished with current book, now have incentive to hurry up. Will write mini-reviews when finished.

Suddenly remembering that I haven't beta-ed Sims' latest chapter for her. So sorry, forgot about it, Greg taking up time (not a bad thing, though). Will do as soon as possible. Maybe tomorrow.

Off to uJournal and read, then bed. Another long first period tomorrow -- possible w00t. =)
