Hodgepodge and my sweet sixteen. Damn. Lost the first version of this entry. Stupid Net malfunction. I'll see if I can remember it. And I'm going to copy this, so I won't lose it again.

I got back a little while ago from my first ever time driving a car! Last time, we never left the front of the house. We went to an empty school parking lot today to practice. (No school, for Labor Day.) I need to work on turning, and braking evenly, and accelerating... okay, so I need to work on everything. And there was no traffic. But I didn't crash, or hit the unsuspecting people that wandered across the lot. That's a start. And I have to start somewhere, right?

I followed a news link (something about Communists in China blocking Google) when I found The Google Quiz. It's pretty neat. They ask five multi-part questions, and you have to find the answers using Google. Unfotunately, you have to be 18 to enter, and the prizes aren't good enough for me to test the law, so I couldn't enter. But I knew the first Hodgepodge answer off the top of my head. Jeopardy Teen Tournament, here I come. :)

Just realized I forgot to mention how my birthday went. I got all the CDs I asked for (including Avril Lavigne, which is awesome, and I highly recommend), and just over $100 cash. I also got some kitchen gadgets. Apparently, Mom ran out of ideas, so I am now the "proud" owner of a Perfect Pancake (which has a design flaw), and a quesadilla maker. I love Mexican food, especially quesadillas con carne, but couldn't she have just got it as a family thing? Why give it to me? It's not like I'm going to keep it in my room. She insisted on inviting my family over to celebrate. They talked, and then got drunk on sake (Japanese rice wine). Long story short: I was bored, and stayed up too late, but got some neat presents. There's always next year. =)
